The short answer
Check that the Zen is running Rift, wait for its startup screen to finish, then hold L2/LT and press Options/Menu. If the device is not receiving controller inputs, changing shot timing will not fix the menu.

Read the Zen screen before pressing the shortcut. Selecting a device slot is different from selecting Build 1, 2, or 3 inside Rift. If the screen shows another script, follow the current Cronus instructions to select the slot containing Rift. Do not erase your device just to try a different slot.
Use the complete shortcut
In the supplied Rift V1.1 file, the menu opens when the left trigger is held and Options/Menu is pressed. Pressing the menu button by itself is not the same shortcut. When open, Left/Right changes pages and Up/Down changes the selected setting.
Separate a connection problem from a menu problem
If the controller does not work normally through the setup, check the current console/controller connection instructions first. If gameplay inputs work but the Rift menu still will not open, record the file version, controller, selected slot, and exact button sequence for support.

In V1.1, Circle/B closes the main menu and saves. The menu shortcut also saves when it closes the menu.
